I feel it is slightly appropriate to be in Detroit right now, I feel about as beat down as the city does, and the gloom wintry weather only accentuates this fact. However, similarly to Detroit, it won't slow me down. This has been one of the harder semesters of my academic career, even after discounting the extra work and the distance from loved ones. I always figure there are others who have it worse so I need to suck it up.
After having been through 75% of my finals all I want to do is sleep, relax, and GO HOME. Motivation seems miles away right now, but I am about halfway done with my Civil Procedure outline and then I can pack, take the test and put Detroit and law school in my rear view mirror for just a few days at least.
